Wines we love

This wine has been by far our favorite wine of 2011.  An easy, smooth frizzante.  I don't even need to tell you about the "flavor profile" because we've bought this wine once a week for the last half year at least.  Perfect with paella, any fish or chicken and simply just easing into your evening.  Not to mention, "Calle Avinyo" was the name of the street of my first Barcelona apartment and will always remain as one of my favorite streets for cafe/bar hopping without the tourist crowd.  $12 bucks a bottle.

Andrew roasted a chicken with thyme, lemon and garlic while we finished the "Avinyo."  We threw the chicken over a bed of creamy polenta and mustard greens and finished the evening with a basic Catalan Grenache.  An easy red at only $8.95.

Best when consumed by a fire.

Wines we love

Love this wine!  This tasty Tempranillo is from the region of La Mancha, where it is grown in limestone and clay, starved for water, and survives intense summer heat and extreme freezes.  The grapes that create this wine "have a strong sense of self."  Rich wild berry flavors with olive and herbs.  A steal for only $10.

This gorgeous Verdejo from 2010 is the perfect addition to any light meal.  We enjoyed it with a stir-fry of rice noodles, broccoli, eggplant and tofu.  Crisp and beautifully balanced with notes of citrus and minerals.  Under $15.
